How Shutting Your Mouth Can Help You Reach SUCCESS

01/04/2018

Success is an individualized social construct that is the focal point of many people's lives. Everyone wants to be better, everyone wants great financial compensation, everyone wants to be the next big thing, everyone wants SUCCESS. But what are people actually doing to reach their success? Are they doing too much or too little? In my personal opinion, some people are doing too much thus, making their success very little. Let me tell you why, some people who are destined for success are doing too much out in the open, which makes their projects fall short internally. The reason is because they ARE NOT SILENT!

I believe that silence is the hidden key to a person's maximized success. Announcing to the world your new project idea or business plan may not be the best option, but introducing the final product is completely appropriate. I'm not saying that people are not entitled to celebrate their accomplishments, but people get too excited in the process and make their end result prolonged or incomplete by telling everyone their plans. The people in our lives influence us greatly and they do in fact have an effect on our success. If you have people in your life that are negative or constantly tearing you down and criticizing you, then you may find that reaching success can be difficult. This is where silence comes in.

I know we have all seen the cliche Facebook posts and memes stating that people should, "stay low, be silent, and let your success make noise." As common as this saying is, it is not often practiced. Being quiet and keeping your business to yourself is so helpful while working on a goal. Many people we surround ourselves with are often our biggest supporters, while some are our hidden enemies. People have and will probably always envy success. Do NOT let haters, nay-Sayers, or insecure people ruin your success. Instead, be quiet, work on your goals, and watch your life flourish. The more you tell people about your plan and your process, the more room they have to criticize you. Do NOT give them the satisfaction.

Yes, I am aware that this is easier said than done but it is so worth doing. We all get excited about our good news and our accomplishments and we want to broadcast them to the world, especially on social media platforms, but sometimes these desperate behaviors is what crutches our process. We get caught up in wanting others to be proud of us and getting attention, but this is a distraction from the real goal. Keep your ideas and process silent and let your end results speak for themselves. Some people will feel like you have betrayed them for not revealing your new goals to them early on, but that's okay. That person's energy could have possibly ruined your chances of greatness.

I want to challenge you to stay silent while working on a particular goal. Do not tell anyone what you are working on and the plans you have in place. Just let them see what is to come. We live in a loud world where noise is rejoiced, but silence is necessary and often undermined. Be quiet and get to work!
